Avis Worldwide has come up with Scottish Study Scholarship platform to assist young talented students to apply for scholarship opportunities in Scotland. Eligible international students can study in Scotland on scholarships. Government of Scotland or/and Universities in Scotland offer scholarships to international students.
Scottish Universities offers scholarship opportunities and we have listed below three such scholarships that has attracted students from South East Asia and South Asia.
Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships is a programme of scholarships offered by the Scottish Government in collaboration with Scottish universities in the areas of science, technology, creative industries, healthcare and medical sciences, and renewable and clean energy.
The scheme offers up to 50 awards, each worth £8000, towards tuition fees for any one year of full time study on a postgraduate Masters programme at any of Scotland’s higher education institutions.
Who are eligible: Students from Canada, China (including Hong Kong), India, Japan, Pakistan and USA.
Saltire Scholars will act as an ambassador for Scotland and have to take part in a programme of activities over and above their studies, including dialogue with the academic and business community in Scotland.
In order to apply for a Saltire Scholarship candidates must have a conditional or unconditional offer of a place at a Scottish university on an eligible course.
Asian scholarships are available for self-funding students domiciled in South East Asia. Students from the region holding an offer to study a full-time bachelors or select masters course in September 2020 or January 2021. South East Asia countries refers to Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei or Vietnam.
Eligible students holding offer for courses mentioned above will be awarded scholarship upto GBP 3000 for the first year of the study.
South Asia scholarships are for self-funding students from South Asia (India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal starting a course at Edinburgh Napier in September 2020 and January 2021. The scholarships are merit-based ranging from £2,000 to £3,000. The scholarship is tenable for one academic year.
For bachelor courses, applicant student must also achieve the following academic requirements:
60% or above in the Class 12th or HSC – scholarship of £2,000
75% or above in the Class 12th or HSC – scholarship of £3,000
For masters courses (only select courses), applicant student must also achieve the following academic requirements in the most recent bachelors or masters qualification:
70% or above – scholarship of £3,000
60 – 69% – scholarship of £2,000
